Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP), is a state-owned enterprise responsible for generating, transmitting, and wholesaling electricity in Ethiopia. EEP operates 22 power plants, including hydropower and wind, and manages over 20,634 kilometers of transmission lines.  The company supplies bulk electricity to the Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU), direct industrial customers, and exports power to neighboring countries such as Djibouti and Sudan. 

EEP’s mission includes expanding electricity access through initiatives like the Universal Electricity Access Program (UEAP), aiming to electrify rural communities and support Ethiopia’s economic development.
