EIH Plans $55 Mln Hilton Garden Inn Expansion Ahead of COP32

  • October 5, 2026
  • Dagmawi Zeleke

Ethiopian Investment Holdings is moving ahead with a roughly 55 million US dollars expansion of its hospitality portfolio, developing a 150-key Hilton Garden Inn and wellness facility within the existing Hilton Addis Ababa compound.

The project is designed to add hotel capacity without developing a separate site, using existing assets around the state-owned Hilton property. EIH describes brownfield expansion and asset optimisation as part of its investment approach.

Elmi Olindo Contractors PLC has been appointed as the design-and-build contractor, while ZIAS Architecture and Engineering will serve as the project consultant. Construction is scheduled for completion in October 2027, about one month before the United Nations climate conference COP32, which is scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa in November 2027.
